The basic elements that can make or break a nature photograph, are the composition and how you choose to frame the picture. Using the rule of thirds and thinking about focusing your subject in the "hot spots", you can create some nature photos that are pleasing to the eye.

To me, the hardest thing about photographing children is getting the shot at just the right time.  Kids are fickle… they might be in a smiling mood one minute and a grouchy one the next.  Kids are curious… they want to hold the camera, not look at it from a distance.  And kids are coy… they often act shy as soon as they know the camera is there.  So, what can you do?

The most important thing in photography is light. If you're shooting outside during the day the sun is where your light comes from. Controlling what the sun does to your subject is what makes the image look good. Having an assistant or a C-Stand holding a reflector to fill in shadowed areas is a good way to make great pictures.
