Well another week has passed by, Thanksgiving is behind us and I starting thinking about what I would post here this week. I read an interesting discussion on one of the BBS's that I frequent and it got me thinking about how file format plays into things for the serious or pro photographer. So lets look at this together and maybe I can help you choose what is right for you.

Hi everyone. I wanted to take a minute and introduce myself to you all. My name is Chris and I am the Advanced Photography Editor here at Picture My Camera. I am a professional photographer and I spend most of my time shooting commercial and residential properties. I also shoot a lot of stock and nature/landscapes in my down time.

It is confusing isn't it? How does a photographer decide what they need to post process images? The first thing i want to address here is what is post production? Post Production (herein called PP cause it is easier to type) is just what it sounds like. It is the work done after the image is taken and before it is displayed or delivered.

I can teach you lots of tips and tricks as you make your foray into photography. In fact, I will teach you tips and tricks about settings, composition and editing. Soon! But I need you to take some time on your own, hunt under your bed for the box your camera came in and locate your camera's manual. And then? I need you to read your manual.

I'm taking a few moments away from Photoshop to introduce myself to the Picture My Camera community. Hello! I am your Intermediate Photography Editor, and I'm a photo junkie. Just ask my husband, who so generously sat through thousands of aperture and white balance tests as I learned the ropes of my Canon Rebel XSI. I am a student at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, a native of Wisconsin, and a current resident of the beautiful Bay Area.
